Destructive Chaos

Hi! My name is Ian Gutjahr, I am a 17 year old web developer from Alberta, Canada. My interests include anything to do with computers and technology. I’ve been using the computer since I was a little kid. My love for learning about them just keeps growing like you could not even believe.

I’m currently fluent in PHP, PERL, and MySQL. I started learning PERL, like I learn everything, by example. With lots of help from Matt Austin and the guys over at Bot-Depot. With PERL I started programming Messenger Bots, then moved on to more advanced and challenging projects, such as a Windows Helper and other cool programs. After becoming friendly with PERL I suddenly had an erge to move to the web. Since PERL and PHP use basicly the same sytax I was able to pick it up quickly. Now I program all of my web based projects in PHP (and MySQL if needed!).

At the moment I am learning Macromedia Flash and ActionScript. At the moment I don’t have much to show for my learning on this subject - if your interested to see what I’ve created thus far, check out my CommTech page. I also have Photoshop CS2 9.0 Pro, and I think I’m pretty good at it. I can’t create any wicked amazing designs like David can, but all and all - it gets the job done. Other things I’m taking on are: Visual Basic and Javascript (really for AJAX to save bandwidth and loading times).

Right now I’m working on developing my own (and Jaga’s) coding tutorial site. Our coding site will be 100 percent dedicated to programming support and tutorials. Jaga has developed her own web site and graphic design - Windy Designs. I have resently come across a new problem - not with the programming - but with the spam bots on the internet. Currently, Coder Tech Central gets over 10 spam bots registered a day. And the site hasn’t even been released yet. Development on our new site has been moving at a pretty slow and at a very casual pass because of many other projects that I’ve dipped my hands into.

Another project I have on the go right now is my families web page. This site has taken the most time out of all of them because of the amazing ideas I have for it. The site as it is right now is very boring and unusable. At the moment I still need to sit down with my parents and figure out what colours they would like to use to repesent us. I also need to take many pictures. I will most likely make the site out of flash at the end of my Comm Tech course at school.

I enjoy listening to music and going to parties! My favorite type of music is Reggaeton. My favorite musical artists are Daddy Yankee (DY), Don Omar and Pitbull. I began to like reggaeton shortly after one of my friends downloaded Gasolina onto my computer. I currently have ripped over 87 reggaeton CDs to my iPod.

On the weekends I enjoy working on my first gen. Neon. Recently I’ve added clear corner lights and replaced the light bulbs. I’ve replaced all the outside lights on the car (tail lights, head lights, turn signals, and side markers). I also replaced the factory deck last weekend. Next thing I plan to put into this car is a cold air intake and a new muffler.
