8 Year Old on GH! AMAZING!

Posted by Ian Gutjahr in Entertainment, Games on 06 18th, 2007

I was just searching for the 8 year old that can own you at GH (after my uncle told me about it). I found him, he’s amazing! You all must watch this! I beat the game on Easy and thought it was hard - this kid is only 8 years old!

My first car!

Posted by Ian Gutjahr in Entertainment, Hobbies, Travel on 05 12th, 2007

My dad went out to buy a new car (to improve his trip to work :P - but we all know he wanted a new car). Anyway, enough about his car - that’s not important here - even though it’s really really really nice! Like a brand new jet (and it’s hybrid for all you tree huggers).

Since he bought a new car and the Neon is to old and has to many miles on it to get any significat money back my dad has past the car on to me! Woo! It’s stock right now, but you know me, I love cars and what you can do to them so I’ve already been looking on eBay and other sites to see what others have done to their Neons. I can tell you for sure I’ll be putting speakers in first thing :P .  I’ve been looking at neons for under the dash, and below the seats - they’re pretty cheap to buy, but I don’t know what installation is like. Installing the speakers is no problem, I know people that work at Future shop and others that have been doing it for years.

My car is a 97-98 Plymouth  Neon with chipped white paint (as all the Neons have). 4 cyl 5 speed manual. Great condition. No coffee stains or cigar burns on the seats. A few cracks in the windshield but that’s fine, they’re not that major.

But before I can get to drive the car I need to get a job to pay the massive insurance this beast is going to have. It’s going to be $1300 a year - because I’m a primary driver :S. So the job hunt starts tomorrow. Tomorrow morning I will be handing in an application at Giant Tiger! (Yes mom, I’m really doing it - so lay off).

This afternoon I cleaned the inside of the car, now it’s extremely clean! I spent two and a half hours just cleaning the inside. I love this car - I can’t even drive it yet and I love it so much. It’s like my unborn baby. Tomorrow afternoon I will be armoral’ing the inside to make it shinny, then I’ll hook the power washer up and take all the paint off… oh I mean dirt, that’s right, it is really white - silly me.

Some of you (a select few) may be wondering “What about your hermano? Do you have to share?”. The answer to that one is.. yes. But that’s not for another 4 years, so I don’t know, we’ll see how that works out. Eric thinks the car will be past on to him when he’s 16, that means I’d only have the car for 1 year. Hmm, I don’t think so. I think we’ll just stick with sharing for now. Maybe I’ll buy him a scooter - that’ll get him away from the car right? Ha. Yeah right.

Anyway, I’ll post pictures of the inside of the car tomorrow to show off my clean job. And of course the outside before and after pictures of the dirty-paint removal. I swear that thing hasn’t been cleaned for months, maybe even a year.

I hope you enjoyed reading this! Post your comments cause I love reading them!

In closing, anyone got gas money? Happy mothers day - to the mothers of course! Love you mommy!

Joost up your Internet!

Joostâ„¢ the best of tv and the internetWhat is Joost?

“Joost is a new way of watching TV on the internet. With Joost, you get all the things you love about TV, including a high-quality full-screen picture, hundreds of full-length shows and easy channel-flipping.” - Joost website.

Basically Joost is free television. The only down side is that it only has a limited amount of channels you can watch at the moment, and uses alot of bandwidth, which is acceptable for such an inivative program.

Watch this video advertisment, it explains all. You’ll be addicted in no time!

Joost Ad video!

What’s the catch?

There is no catch - so far. Joost does use P2P (Peer 2 Peer) to send the information to more people with less strain on their servers. You can’t turn this off - it wouldn’t be fair if you could. But make sure you close the program after using it - or else you bandwidth will spike and your ISP will be emailing you with complaints (Telus!).

OK, you sold me, how do I get in!

Well Joost is still in it’s early BETA stages. I know, it’s a let down. But don’t worry - that doesn’t concern us. Since you take the time to read my blog (always right?!) just email me and I’ll send you an invite to try out this awesome program! But be quick cause I only have 999 of them! First come first serve I guess. If I don’t have any left by the time you read this, you can always check the Joost BETA page and see if they’ll accept you.

I have 999 invites! So keep the comments/hits coming - as a bonus you could even register…. that’d be cool wouldn’t it? Your choice though ;).

Please remember that even though I have 999 to give out - they are still limited. And you only need one login to use Joost - you can even use it on more than 1 computer. DO NOT POST TWICE! I will not give you an invite if you do.

Christmas in Mass

Posted by Ian Gutjahr in Entertainment on 12 28th, 2006

So, what’d everyone get? Any new cars driving around this year? No. I didn’t get a car, but you know, there is always next year. But I got the next closest thing - Need For Speed Carbon (PSP). It may not go 200km/h but it’s noodles of fun. I’m already 22% complete. It’s longer then I thought it would be. Race after race and still 0%! Of course all good gamers have their favorite chair. If you don’t have one by now, your not seriously l33t. I have one - therefor I am ubber l33t. It’s a fold out comfy thing. It has built in speakers! It’s great & feels so surround.

My biggest and (going to be) most used gift this year is… socks! Yeah the things you wear on your feet, not the proxy connection you nerds! It’s all right we all have our moments. I’m kidding. I got a new computer. It’s a refurbished HP workhorse. I needed it to play the best games ever created, F.E.A.R* and America’s Army.

The specs of this beast are pretty good compared to my old computer.

  • Memory: 2046MB PC2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM
  • Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs)
  • Hard Drive: Primary: 237 GB 7200RPM Serial ATA; Secondary: 300 GB; USB External: Gigabank 250 GB;
  • CD Drive: LightScribe Double Layer 16X DVD+R/RW
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE Radeon X1650 Series (512 MB dedicated video RAM)
  • Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio TV out capabilities
  • Speakers: Logitech X-530 70 Watts 5.1 Speakers with Cerwin-Vega! 2000 watt 12"x2 sub woofers
  • Keyboard: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 v1.0
  • Mouse: Keio Optical
  • Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519)
  • Other: ATI All In Wonder Remote Control Plus; Built in card reader: Smart Media/xD; MMC/SD; Compact Flash 1/2; Memory Stick/PRC

And I get a free Microsoft Vista upgrade in January. To bad I didn’t get in on the beta on that one. :P

All and all, I had a pretty awesome Christmas. How was yours? Tell me in your comments!

I used Windows Live Writer (BETA) to post this entry - it crashed once! Cool concept though.
