It’s been ages!

Posted under: Animation, Life

Well, what can I say… I’ve been super busy with stuff around here. Nothing really cool to talk about though.

I created a dry erase board in Flash last week. That was pretty cool. I’ll upload it in a bit so you all can see how fun it is. I’ve also been working on a simple Duck Hunt game in Flash as well. So far I have the duck flying and the gun shooting the pellets at the duck and also have scoring complete. All I have left to do is create some more levels and have the duck actually fall like in the old Nintendo game.

As for the car. This week we’ve added a Cold Air Intake. The gains were pretty noticable and the sound is defently more aggressive. Removing the factory air box also cleaned up the engine bay a bit. Next week we’ll be adding my Air/Fuel ratio, voltage and fuel pressure gauges. I’ve picked these gauges because they seemed to be the most useful to my car (as you may have noticed in other posts).

When the weather gets better we’ll be installing my new header. This will stop my car from sounding like a v8. Which I really can’t wait. I can’t stand being heard from a kilometer away.

Other than this stuff, I don’t have much more news. My brother got his learners licence. So be watchful! :P

Car Fixed!

Posted under: Hobbies, Life, School

We were able to fix my car this weekend. It all started back in October when I was driving home from school and the car died. I thought the fuel pump just called it quits so I had it towed to Canadian Tire and they comfirmed it. The fuel pump was died. They were wrong!

It turned out that it wasn’t the fuel pump that was broken. It was a wiring issue to the PCM that was blowing my fuel pump fuse. After about 2 weeks of looking for a short we gave in and took it into Chrysler to find the problem. James - the mechanic - took the entire car apart to check the entire wiring harness from the engine back to the pump. It was fine. He re taped the wires and wrapped them up.

Since then the cars been running a little chunky. This weekend we replaced the new (cheapo) fuel pump with the old OEM one that we took out and the car runs fine.

Everyone says the dealerships are only out to get your money. This is untrue, it may cost a little more to get your car in with them. But it’s really worth it. They took the entire car apart and fixed the problem for $250.00. Defently would have saved alot of money if I just went to the dealer first. As for taking your money.  Yesterday I took my back seat apart and found two dallors under the seat! James could have taken that - but he didn’t!

:)

In other news! This one isn’t as exciting to me..

I did my math exam on Friday and as far as I can tell… I think I passed. We’ll see next semester. :)

All fixed up!

Posted under: Hobbies, Life, Travel

Well as some of you may already know, my blog has not been working properly for the past few months. It’s been such a long time since I’ve been able to post. Anyway, it turns out that one of the plugins that I was using did not agree with the update I did on the site months ago and it’s only now that I fix it.

Alot has happened since I last posted. First things first. I killed my baby. It was horrible! (if you don’t know by now, my baby - is my car.) I was driving home from school when all the sudden it died on me.

I took her to Canadian Tire and they told me it was my fuel pump that had quit on me. (CND Tire isn’t so good at mechanics I think). They quoted me $700 to fix my broken fuel pump for me. Of course, being me, and always looking for the cheapest way to fix my problems I took my car home. I dropped in a new fuel pump and the car still did not start.

After some more tests we figured it might be the PCM that was acting up or fried. So I went online to find a new one to drop in. I bought a Mopar Performance PCM and dropped it in, still no go.

Finally we check the fuses again. (I know, it’s the first thing you should always do. The thing is, we thought Canadian Tire would have the brains to do that before me). We dropped a new 20A fuse in and magicly the car starts.

Now my problem isn’t solved by a simple fuse. No, of course not. It’s never that simple. We took the car for a drive and it died 30 minutes later after we bought 91 grade gas (new computer needs it). We called a tow truck and now my car is sitting in my drive way again.

We’ve narrowed the problem down to a short in the wiring somewhere. The only problem being that the little fuel pump fuse seems to be connected to everything that is of importance. Tomorrow we’ll be swapping back in the stock computer to try and get some error codes from the sensors. The new computer needs to be plugged into a scanner to work and I don’t feel like spending another $150 right now.

So that’s what I’ve been up to for the past few months. If you have any ideas on what could be my problem. I’ll be happy to hear it! I’m looking for all the help I can get. The guys over at Neon Canada have been great too!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Today today.. what can I say..

Posted under: Life

Never noticed how long it’s been since I last blogged on this thing. And I still have the winter theme going… I should change that to a rainy one… because that’s all that seems to be happening lately.

So, today well it started out pretty good. I woke up at 8:17am, I know the exact time because that’s when my brother left for school  (he slammed the door behind him.) I couldn’t get back to sleep after that so I just got up and made breakfast (yumm I wish we had some Captian Crunch). After breakfast I guess my day really started. It was (and still is) raining out so I couldn’t find anyone to go play basket ball in the rain with.

I got one thing acomplished though, I BEAT GTA SA (PS2)! After trying forever I’ve finally done it.. now it’s not so fun… they should have an add-on update or something. I also beat NFS MW (PSP). Now you really see what I do when I get extremely bored.

By this time, it was lunch time. I had Mr. Noodles for lunch. The water wasn’t hot enough so Mr. Noodles was what I expected it to be, oh well food is food to me. If it’s eatable I will most likely eat it.

After lunch I started working on the computer. I did a bunch of code revising & mysql implation to DestructiveChaos.com. Now I can edit every part of the site from the navigation to the footer. Tomorrow I will finish the forum intergration. I’m thinking I might go with VBulletin as the message board software, but that’s $160 USD out of my pocket. Maybe just sticking with PHPBB would be the better choice and just modify it to the way I want it.

My plans for tonight are to go to the movies! I would really love to go to “Nacho Libre”. Jack Black looks great in that movie! Another Napolian Dinamite for sure! To bad the theatres are so expensive. $7.00 to see an hour long film. I remember when it was only $4.00. Oh how I wish I was still a ‘child’.

Payment payment… I should be getting paid today too! My first pay chek! Oh how I love money! I started working last Friday and so far I’ve put in the most hours out of everyone working there! Yay to me! I plan on buying speakers for my dads car but I don’t know if he wants me to. He needs them, but he says “You only want to do that because you think your getting the car”, he’s wrong. I’m gonna do it just because his speakers sound like crap - plus, when I do get my own car, I’ll just take the speakers out of his car and put them in mine, simple as that.
